Maureen Prendergast - Making Bespoke Fabric
Maureen Prendergast is a fiber artist known for creating bespoke fabric using reclaimed and repurposed textile scraps. Her work emphasizes sustainability, upcycling, and creative reuse. She will be presenting a program followed by a workshop.
Bespoke Fabric Workshop (Saturday, 12-4pm Whispering Pines Community Building) Maureen Prendergast will share her technique of creating fabric using repurposed and upcycled materials. She will show us how to use leftover fabric and threads to create beautiful and unique pieces of art. There is no kit, but she supplies the backing and soluble stabilizer used.
Workshop Fee: $25 for members, $35 for guests
Susan Brubaker Knapp - Whole Cloth Painting
Susan Brubaker Knapp is a well‑known American fiber artist, art quilter, author, teacher, and longtime host of Quilting Arts TV. She’s widely recognized for her vivid, realistic textile work and her mastery of techniques like wholecloth painting, fusible appliqué, and thread sketching. Susan Brubaker Knapp’s program will be on Wholecloth Painting Quilts. The program will include a digital slide show and trunk show.
Improvisational Raw-Edge Collage Workshop (Tuesday, 12-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church) Susan’s half-day workshop is an improvisational raw-edge collage class. You’ll work from photos of real flowers, create drawings based on simplified abstractions of them, and then cut out pieces without patterns.
Workshop Fee: $25 for members, $35 for guests
Wholecloth Painting Botanicals (Wednesday 9am - 3pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church) In the full day workshop on Wednesday, Susan will teach the basics of painting on fabric to make wholecloth painted quilts. You’ll choose from one of her designs and use acrylic textile paints to create at least one small piece.
Workshop Fee: $40 + $25 kit for members, $50 + $25 kit for guests
Member Sale and Jelly Roll Rug & Bag Workshop
Member Sale: This is your chance to clear out your closets or add to your stash. Bring anything sewing related that you would like to sell - machines, supplies, fabric, patterns, etc. Contact Laurie Mayo or Angie Enright to reserve a table or half table. Please let them know by March 8th.
Jelly Roll Workshop (Tuesday, 12-4pm & Wednesday, 9am - 3pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church)
Following the meeting and sale, Pat Hough will lead a workshop to create a rug or bag made with a Jelly Roll or strip set.

Embroidered Wool Egg Workshop (12-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church)
Following the meeting, Laurie Mayo will lead a workshop on creating appliqued and embroidered wool eggs.
Workshop Fee: $25 for members, $35 for guests
A kit will be provided for $18. If you have your own felted wool, the kit will be $12.
Stitch Books by Susan Edmonson
Susan Edmonson is a talented quilt maker and fiber artist known for her unique and creative designs. She has been in the quilting world since 1981 and has developed a distinctive style that incorporates folk art, crazy quilted purses, wall quilts, and "flower doodles." Her work often features mixed media techniques, beading, and embroidery.
“English Storybook Tales” Workshop (Wednesday, November 19, 9-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church)
This tiny book tells a story of the views from the English Countryside, with hills of green, cottage gardens, Thatch roof houses and much more! It’s just like a fairy tale all stitched by hand in an enchanting little book! There will be many hand embroidery stitches to create the garden, and countryside. Let Susan guide you through this magical journey of creativity!

Lynette Crosby - Creative Stitching with Wool Appliqué
Lynette has been a Sue Spargo fan for many years including one amazing full week of study by Stillwater Cove near Pebble Beach. With a special salute to Sue, designer of all things combining wool and creative stitching, the September program and workshop will produce a simple, yet useful, project using a whimsical design combining wool, quilting fabric and embellishment.
A Bird and Bloom Needle Keeper Workshop (12-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church)
The stitching workshop will follow the meeting (bring your lunch!) - and allow you to learn about a number of specialty stitches, threads, needles and hand embroidery. The kit will include wool, fabric, select needles, pattern, stitch instruction, wool threads and various embellishments/ buttons/beads.

Lynn Christiansen - From Passport to Patchwork
Lynn Christiansen of Emerald Falls Quilts will take the audience on a creative journey inspired by a trip down the Rhine River. This presentation showcases the quilts A Viking View, Castor's Light, Dutch Porcelain, and the Rhine River Sampler detailing how the stunning landscapes, medieval castles, and historic towns along the Rhine River influenced the design and composition of the piece.
Souvenir Stitching Workshop (12-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church)
Students will learn how to transform their travel photos into unique quilt blocks, capturing memories through fabric and design.
Linda James - Dresden Plates-Not Outdated After All
Linda James will present a program and workshop on the Dresden Plate block and its variations.
Although the Dresden plate block has been around for a long time, it has experienced a rebirth and transformation. If you like traditional, modern or dramatic quilt style, Dresden plates can be your next exciting quilt block. The program will include many pictures and some quilts showing the many looks of a Dresden plate.
Dresden Plate Workshop (12-4pm Our Saviour Lutheran Church). The workshop will focus on construction, including tips and tricks to make them lay flat, innovative settings, variations, ways to attach (no appliqué required) and suggestion for quilting.
