Maureen Prendergast - Making Bespoke Fabric

Maureen Prendergast is a fiber artist known for creating bespoke fabric using reclaimed and repurposed textile scraps. Her work emphasizes sustainability, upcycling, and creative reuse. She will be presenting a program followed by a workshop.

Creating Bespoke Fabric Workshop (Saturday 12-4pm Whispering Pines Community Building) Maureen Prendergast will share her technique of creating fabric using repurposed and upcycled materials.  She will show us how to use leftover fabric and threads to create beautiful and unique pieces of art.  Each piece will be functional, totally sustainable, and help to eliminate waste being sent to landfills.  There is no kit, but she supplies the backing and soluble stabilizer used.

Supplies needed: sewing machine, scissors, pins, variety of threads, supply of fabric and threads.  Maureen says to save ALL of your scraps!

Don’t forget to bring your lunch!

Workshop Fee: $25 for members, $35 for guests*
