Welcome to Caraway Conference Center & Camps

Caraway 2021 is a memory now and we look forward to 2022. All the ladies had a great time this year. We had a few Newbies to Quilting and Sewing, and a few guests. Joy Phillips from Greenville NC, and Gina Hobbs of Somerville OH were guests of Pat Hough. Cathie Berkley was a guest of Pat Talcott. We hope they will come back next year. All totaled we had 27 participants, then on Friday the 22nd, we lost 3 ladies to Health issues.

So, we had 24 attendees. Our accommodations were very nice and of course the food was great. They stuffed us at 7:30, 12:00 noon and at 5:30. I don't think anyone complained of not enough food. On Monday there was a DEMO provided by The Quilting Coop of Asheboro. We did a folded fabric star. On Tuesday we all went to Pineapple Fabrics as a group. Wow, that place has changed. A beautiful Quilt store and not just a warehouse.

We were given an extra discount on top of their sales already in place. We also received a Creative Grids ruler as a gift. A small one but we can all use an extra ruler. The rest of our time was spent sewing. So many people finished multiple projects as we all saw at Show and Tell on Wednesday. Every day we had Raffle drawings for 9 gift baskets. Provided by Bernina World of Sewing in Raleigh, Loving Stitches in Fayetteville, Gift cards by Cary Quilting, A gift Certificate by Linda Walters and $10 gift cards by Kick Back Jacks in Southern Pines.

All the ladies received at registration, a beautiful fabric tote bag, all made by Diane Magruder who moved back to Texas, and finished by the Caraway Committee of Mary Jane Barrenger, Nancy Gagnon , Debbie Simmonds, Nancy Lettiere and Pat Hough. The bags were loaded with notions and trinkets. Pen and paper, gum, candy etc. John and Nancy Gagnon donated clip boards with Sewing and quilting sayings engraved on the board.

Mary Jane donated rulers that John engraved with Caraway 2021 and he made us all pins for our name tags with Caraway 2021 and a little Sewing Machine. Nancy G., Debbie, Diane, Pat and Nancy L. also donated many items for the tote bags and baskets. We all came away with lots of goodies, great memories and new friends.
